During the course of this class I have experienced
many firsts. This is the first time I blogged, the first time I made an online
video, and the first time I used power point. The frustration of the learning curves felt overwhelming,
but as I became more comfortable and confident the curves smoothed out. I found
that I actually enjoyed these tools and I will use these skills both in my
personal and professional life.
The blogging was a great way to learn about my
peers. Usually, online classes feel so impersonal, but the blogs gave a face
and a personality to the person. It
allowed me to connect on a personal level to my peers. As a future forest
ranger I could use a blog to keep my co-workers up to date or to inform the public.
Online videos are a quick way to get ideas and information across to people. Power Point was intimidating, but I rapidly
realized that this is a great tool for presentations. The formatting is simple to use, yet it makes
a dramatic professional impact. Of all three of these tools I enjoyed the power
point the most as I can see myself using this in many facets.
I appreciated Mrs. Cline’s patience, guidance and
support with me on technology. I made many mistakes that seemed trivial, but
she pointed out the seriousness of these mistakes. Especially copyright
infringement, in this day and age it is so common (and often innocent enough),
but very serious. I now have the
confidence to explore new online tools. Next up, Glogs and Prezis. Then who knows?
